About Steve

I grew up primarily in southern Georgia in a pastor’s home.  After graduation from high school, I attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN where I met my wife Robin.  Together we have two awesome daughters, Emily and Abigail.  Having worked in church work throughout my adult life in various capacities, we now live in Vero Beach, FL where I lead worship at Ryanwood Fellowship as well as teach a Sunday school class.

  1. Hey Steve, I think it’s been a million years or so since we talked or at least a decade and a half. Remember me? Jan’s brother… Michael’s bro-in-law?
Anyway, I was sitting up here in NY looking at RH and other FWB sites and ran across your blog. I’ll have to check it out a little more often.
Amy and I have 13,11,and 10 year old daughters and we are near NYC serving with a non-denom ministry- check the website. It gets a little lonely sometimes and I feel pretty disconnected from the whole FWB group so I have to check in as much as possible online. Anyway, it’s good to see your face… bet you don’t get that very often haha!
    Blessings my friend!

It is so awesome hearing from you! And you are absolutely correct, I don’t hear that very often that someone is glad to see my face! I hope things are well with you in NYC. While you guys are enduring the murderous NY winter, I’ll pray for you as I enjoy the marvelous FL one.

Give your family our regards and keep checking back. Although I don’t get to write as much as I’d like, I do write occasionally in here.

  3. Steve,
Just wanted to stop in and say Hi. Good writing on your blog. I tried to get a wordpress blog going but it’s a bit over my head and I couldnt’ get the graphics where I wanted. I do like WordPress better than where I’m at other than that.

Anyhow – - add me to your blogroll: (meanwhile – I’m still trying to figure out how to put a blogroll on mine).

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a post. I appreciate that. Incidentally, are you still in the Metro DC area?

I’ll do my best to add you to my blogroll . . . that’s if I can figure out how to do it! I have not been able to post as much as I’d really like to, but I’m going to make an effort to publish more in the coming days / weeks.

  5. I’m still in Waldorf. We changed the name of our church to Faith Family Fellowship. We have a website that needs work so I don’t share it – however here is our myspace: http://www.myspace.com/faith_family_fellowship

I will probably begin a Blog for the church specifically after the new year. It will be called “Sparks Of Faith” and will most likely keep it on Blogger because I can control the graphics of the main page without my own web server (unless I’m missing something about wordpress).

  6. Steve,

When were you at FWBBC? I know I’m older than you but I also attended BC 68-72.

No longer aligned with FWB. Now a SB through and through. Still love and talk to my FWB brothers and sisters all the time. We try to stay away from all the hot buttons! Helps to maintain our friendship.

    Nice to meet you.

    Bob in NC

  7. I attended FWBBC in the 80s. I was primarily there from 82-87, and again during the 88-89 term. I was also employed by the College in the early – mid 90s. I lived in Nashville and was around the College often, though, until early 1998. I know by far most who were affiliated with FWBBC during the 80s and 90s.
Welcome to my blog. Good to meet you as well.

  8. Hey Steve,

Where in GA are you from? I’m from Cairo-Thomasville.

    Jesse

  9. Jesse — My dad was also a pastor, so I moved around a bit. Most of my growing up years were spent in the southwest part of GA (Early and Miller Counties) or in the southeast part (Glynn, Jeff Davis, and Tattnall Counties). I also spent a year or so in Moultrie, and that is where much of my dad’s family is originally from.

Thanks for participating. I look forward to seeing you in here often.
    Steve
